Malaysian Passport validity for 2 years
Just recently in September this year, Malaysia government has introduced a lower rate Malaysian Passport fees for the infrequent travelers. How low is the rate anyway?
2 years validity of Malaysian Passport cost only RM100. But do you really think this is worth renewing for 2 years….which means you have only 1.5 years of actual passport validity. Normally, a foreign country requires your international Malaysian passport to have at least 6 months validity to enter into their country.
Let’s do the maths:
2 years for RM100
6 years will be around RM300
But, remember you wont get your actual passport validity for up to 6 years as mentioned earlier.
(Normal5 years rate @ RM300 for 32 pages & RM600 for 64pages)
In my opinion, i still think opting for the 5 years normal rate of RM300 is worthwhile and reduce your hassle torenew every 1.5 years. However, if you know you will only leave the country only few times at that certain 2 years validity of your Malaysian passport, then, you may opt for this.
Additionally, If you are those travelers that plan trips with infrequent interval lets say a trip on every alternate year then surely the RM300 -5 years Malaysian passport is a better choice.

Pulau Ketam Day Trip
Pulau Ketam or a.k.a the “Crab Island” which was a place where i never thought of putting in my visiting list. It’s a small fishing village where visitors can take a day tour by a ferry from the Port Klang Jetty to Pulau Ketam. The details ferry operating hours can be seen here.

The main purpose of visiting this island is of course to taste the fresh seafood and also the crabs. Unfortunately, I did not managed to try any seafood during my visit there because of our non-peak and weekday visit to this island. The houses and shop lots of Pulau Ketam were mostly build on stilt as like many fishing villages beside the seafront. The land of this island can be seen to be at a muddy and mangrove land. This maybe the reason why many houses are built on stilt.

The most intriguing thing that Pulau Ketam leave to me is the villagers and people there that travels around with bicycles. You can see that most of them travel around with bicycles and I did not see much of motorcycles nor to say cars. Pulau Ketam can be said to be just another normal town as compared to other fishing village.

One thing that surprise me is that I am able to have a nice ABC ice kacang after walking under the hot sun at this Island with a plate of Fried Kuey Tiew Mee. These are the only food we ate during our visit at this Island. During the weekdays, many food stalls are closed. We did not manage to eat the famous “Lao Zhi Hao” Lala Jien- Fried Clams as it only opened during the weekends.

As to wrap up on this trip, it can be a short trip to fill up your time during your visit to port klang to visit another different fishing village or to have a trip for photo snapping in this place. But, if you plan to try out nice food, my advice is to visit Pulau Ketam during the weekend.

Dinner @ Yuen Steamboat Buffet
It has been long since I step to this restaurant again- Yuen steamboat buffet. (*P/s: If not mistaken, I’ve placed it under my brown list of lousy food restaurant =p) . The chicken wings is average, but not fantastic. The seafood is not fresh and the variety of food seem to be limited. Hmm, the food? I cant find any that is satisfying to me maybe only the egg and mushrooms. The plus point of the restaurant is that it has 3 or more floors of spacious tables for customers which may be a good gathering spot for many.
Anyway, I am not suppose to criticize this restaurant as my main purpose is to thank all my friends for the birthday celebration there.
My special thanks to Chong boon, Boon sin, Sheau wei, Susan, Selyn, Kimberley, and Yvonne for it! Thanks for everything, guys.

Subic Bay-Part 2
From Part 1.
The car we used to travel from Makati City, Philippines to Subic Bay.
A notice that I found in the male’s toilet of one of the resort in Subic Bay..haha
In my opinion, I think Subic Bay may be a good place for those Scuba Divers. After Lunch, we went around the area of Subic Bay for some sight seeing. Amazingly, there were not much activities around and I kinda of did not feel that this was a tourist place. Me and my friends went to a boring butterfly farm to pass time while waiting for another friend in his usual dives. The so called insect and buttlefly farm was quiet and the entrance was not cheap also despite the state of it! Anyway, just for the sake of passing time while waiting for the other friend, we went in for a look.
The place is still well kept and the animals were well treated. The lack of tourist in the area make the place feel so Quiet…..Anyway i manage to pass my time there and bought some souvenir here. Not much to see and talk about in here except the existence of poisonous snakes and spider etc…
The main attraction here beside scuba diving is the Zoobic Safari. In here, we get to sit on an armored truck and feed the hungry tigers in the zoo. Chickens were acted as a bait to lure the tiger towards our armored trucks for the passenger to witness the strong paws and teeth of the tigers. The strength and weight of these mighty tigers could be felt inside the truck. The normal whole sized chicken seem “A snack” to them only with their enormous sized …..ithink they can crave for at least dozens of these…..
The tour ended with some brief visit to a tiger cage. Many full grown tiger and a white tiger were seen here. We left the zoo after some photo snapping, and back to the town of subic bay. We have a meal which is not that great. Shopping in the free trade zone is last in our travel itenery. Some said the wines and clothes are very cheap here, but for me, i don’t see much of variety of cloths there. Wines was definitely cheap, no doubt to that. After our shopping there, we headed back to Makati city for the day. It’s nice to visit this historic place for relaxation and scuba diving. If you asked, will i go back there for a second time? I will say yes for scuba diving only if i take any diving license and NO if for traveling again…;)
