A below par broadband quality in Malaysia
“Malaysia Boleh!!” ….you did it again to be one of the below par broadband quality study done by Oxford University. Congratulation….Thanks to TM-Streamyx as the long existence monopoly of the country. Why is the broadband speed so slow?
Malaysia is listed in the same category deemed as BELOW TODAY’S APPLICATION THRESHOLD…what a shame. It is the same category with United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Pakistan, Morocco, Vietnam and Indonesia. Even countries as large as China, Malta, Brazil and Thailand beat us! Slow internet speed means slow productivity and it will hinder foreign investment into the country. Source malaysiainsider.
We observe our friendly neighbour Singapore which is listed as having Internet speeds of meeting today’s technology. It seem that we are too egoistic to learn from our neighbours in every aspect. We can see that Malaysia Boleh is just an empty vessel anyway?
Another issue is the increasing crime rate in Malaysia~! I wonder what are our police doing? I think they are more interested in seeking for “nice spot” to trap people from speeding, catching people doing illegal U-turn, drinking tea, finding fault of opposition reps, but not catching thieves…
Malaysia Boleh again…
I think when you ask 10 Malaysian, 8 of them will reply they encounter or nearly encounter a snatch thief incident. Just recently, even in a Mamak Stall (So called Indian Muslim owned Night Cafe stall), robbers are so brave that they come in four of two motorcycles and robbed the owner in front of all of us. They even beat and threaten the owner with knife in from of so many people. Again, why are they so brave? Is this Malaysia or another underdeveloping country? I wonder….
I think it is time for us to put down our ego and improve……stop the attitude of pursuing worthless NO.1 award whereby it always end up short term!
High risk to cancer for long term mobile phone usage
As according to an article in Telegraph.co.uk, a landmark international study has concluded that long-term usage of mobile phone can be linked to brain tumors later in life. This may be a served as a warning to frequent heavy user to decrease their call usage~!
The study which is a decade long research under supervision by World Health Organization (WHO) has published evidence that heavy user faced higher risk to develop brain tumors later in life. Source: The Daily Telegraph
As since the existence of mobile phones, mobile users from all ages used it as their necessary gadgets. They talk, sms, chat, online, social and watch video with it. With the emergence of high technology, most of us will feel weird to even leave our mobile phone aside for one hour.
The radiation emission from mobile phone were said to be minimal a decade ago but many studies have shown some risk towards heavy users. I think this should bring some attention to everyone especially young kids and adults…Don’t sleep with your mobile phone and talk when necessary.
Nowadays, even small kids own a mobile phone and use it frequently. This may be bad for their health, as there is a possible of high risk for cancer due to the radiation emitted from mobile phones. Small kids are best discourage from using it, right?
Time to be less dependent on mobile phone and meet face to face~!

My opinion?
- I won’t want my friend to get charge RM0.15 per sms to reply me on WebSMS by Maxis unless they are willing to…however most people will not be aware of it.
- They will tend to reply on the same number and chat like normal which end up spending more for the intented users.
- Maybe if they send the SMS back to my mobile phone but it will defeat the purpose of this service.

Dangerous mobile advertising techniques
Imagine your mobile phone has GPS trackers…
The mobile phone deals allowed mobile advertisements to be sent to you whenever you pass by a participating shop. For example, you pass by a Fast food restaurant, your mobile phone receive a new text message stating a free french fries whenever you buy any meal there.
It makes you having the urge to stop in the middle of the road and in a worst case, it makes you to decide to drive backwards formore goodies and freebies offered by these shops whenever you want a great offer from them. It’s really a dangerous mobile ADVERTISEMENT technique…
But what is good is that it knows whenever you had an accident it will send a discount offer such as a mobile voucher for car bumpers and any other car parts that are damaged during the accident~
Take a look;)
