First impression-Snap Judgements on Susan Boyle
Watch this video ~! And tell me what is your first impression on the lady?
Who is Susan Boyle?
A 47 years old contestant that participated in the Britain’s got talent 2009 episode 1 competition. You can observe three judges sitting down there with Simon (a famous judge from American Idol), Amanda Holden (beautiful British’s actress) and another judge which i do not know his name. Guys, did you see the impression everyone was giving when she walk up there and talk???
5 minutes to ponder
Right now, let us ponder for a moment. Have you ever came across something like that? Either you are the one who are giving a snap judgment on a person and thing or you are the victim of the so call snap judgment. For example, you saw a hawker selling some food which is presented in such of way that is weird and not so presentable which gave you to have a first impression that the food will not turn out to be tasty. But, if you do not try it….you would never know what lies in it? Maybe i will turn out to be like this lady, full of potential and good voice?
On the contrary, have you ever became a victim of people’s snap judgment? I think most of the people may have encounter some of these situation. Before you are able to show them something or do something, people will tend to jump into conclusion and tell you:
” Oh…..look at him/her, from his/her body or action, we can know he/she would not fit into this, we better give another suitable thing for he/she.”
“Look at her/him, it surely won’t work on her/him”
“That nerd face of him, do you expect he will be able to beat you in sports?”
“Durian stinks, it surely would not be tasty”
What is Snap judgment?
This is also known as the first impression you have on something or someone. The first few seconds or minutes you observe a person or things in the aspect of the appearance, the gesture, and action that will make people have some sort of conclusion on that particular person or the item. Most of the people will surely tend to jump into conclusion just by relying on their first impression on the people.
In a nutshell, try not to use our first impression to judge people too early~ You never know there will be hidden talent in that person or a thing~!
Correct way of cooking Maggi Mee-instant noodles?
Instant noodles a.k.a Maggi Mee (a famous brand name in Malaysia) is a norm among busy people and students as this is their instant access to fulfill their hunger while they are too busy to eat. So what’s the big fuss on the correct way of cooking the instant noodle?
I came across an email stating on the usual way as to how we cooked our noodles is wrong.
Our usual instant noodle cooking style
We boil the water and placed the noodles with the MSG(Mono sodium Glutamate) or powder into the pot to let it cook for about 3 minutes or so and it will be ready to eat. This was said to be a wrong instant noodle’s cooking method.
Effect of the usual style of cooking
- The ingredient (powder packet included in the instant noodle) contains MSG-Ajinomono which we boiled it together in high temperature will change it’s molecule structure and the source claim it is toxic. (*Do not know if it is true but the MSG is surely bad for health-high in sodium claimed by medicinenet.com).
- The noodles are surely coated with wax to preserve the noodles for long keeping. It takes about 4~5 days for the body to eliminate the wax after one have consume the noodles with wax.
A better way of cooking your instant noodles
- First, the instant noodles are boiled in the pot.
- After the noodles is cooked, the noodles are taken out and the water which contain wax are poured away.
- Another pot of water is boiled and the noodles are placed into the hot boiling water.
- The stove fire is turned off.
- At this point of time when the stove’s fire is shut off, the ingredient with powder is placed into the water to make the instant noodles.
*P/s: these are information distributed by unknown sources but the part of the noodles having wax coated are in my opinion quite true. Anyway, it is better to play safe and take the prevention.Of course, avoid excessive consumption of instant noodles is the best!
Remember no more than 3 packets of instant noodles a week

Source from Pikom.org.my
Since after few years absence from trips to the PIKOM PC Fair Malaysia, I finally make my decision to visit this year’s April PC Fair exhibition. As usual, the place is packed with computer’s buyers, weekend’s shoppers, students, and of course famous brand pretty models. Despite the economy crisis, there are still many PC Fair’s enthusiastic that are keen to leave their hands on the latest computer technology gadgets and best buys from this year’s PC Fair.
Here are some shots from PC fair, did not manage to bring my camera~ Thanks to the internet sources:

One annoying scene is from Hall 1 or 2 if i am not mistaken, I think the place has been transform to a so called “Wet market” PC FAIR. You can see a sea of Blue uniform-Celcom, Wiggy-P1 wimax uniform, Maxis uniform, and others promoting their broadband services in their PC Fair booth. The promoters could be seen outnumbered the visitors….if i am not exagerating..haha.
I thought the intense competition is on TV advertisement but the even in PC Fair~!
As usual the HWM magazine booth in the PC Fair has offered 3 gift for 1 Year subscription to early birds subscribers. It includes a Planet Wireless Router or a 160GB external Phillips hard disk, or a laptop bag. I managed to get the wireless router even though I went there at noon on saturday. But unfortunately, the external hard disk gift has given out all for the day during the PC Fair.

Source from Maxis.com.my
Just after a day chatting with a friend regarding the mobile services that operators had offered has reached a point of maturity or stagnant in respect of mobile services. Maxis latest mobile service has proved us wrong. Recently, Maxis has introduced the FastTap which is claimed as the world first multi-payment Near field communication (NFC) mobile service.
NFC which is a short range high frequency wireless communication technology. For more technical details, check out here. Fasttap service is collaboration from Touch n’ go, Nokia, Visa, and Maybank.
What is this Maxis FastTap??
Simple explanation- By using a mobile phone (Nokia 6212 Classic) and ” TAP” your mobile phone for contact less payment of services and product. Currently, Maxis offer the Nokia 6212 Classic embedded with the NFC chips for secured Maxis FastTap mobile services.
It seem that the FastTap is similar to your credit card but build into your mobile phones…
Where to use it??
Maybank Visa payWave Merchants, Touch n go, Retails places, and others. Full details check it out in Maxis’s website here.
As the intense competition from the three major cellular operators in Malaysia(Maxis, Celcom, Digi) has brought us to many extra features in our “mobile lifestyle”. We saw many mobile services improvement and introduction to Malaysia such as so call push2talk, bubble talk, video calls, facebook on mobile, talktime transfer, MNP-(Mobile Network Portability), mobile tv, mobile banking, friends finder, and etcetera. This maybe a good sign for subscribers to be able to spice up their mobile lifestyle and also give us the convenience in our daily tasks.
Surely, in every new technology or services offered will have it’s advantages and disadvantages~! They main issues i am pondering is :
The future of our mobile phone is an important asset to us! Robbers will eye our mobile phone as an important target to steal.
As if the crime rate of handphone or mobile phone snatch thief is not high enough, this will definitely make it higher!
Gosh~ MY MOBILE PHONE will soon to be = MY CASH = MY credit card = MY money = MY Wealth.
Finally, please take good care of your mobile phone if you ever want to use this mobile service. Surely, i may expect there would be a security measure to prevent future crime……
